A Message from Halifax Regional Police: Halloween is today and Halifax Regional Police reminds trick-or-treaters, parents and drivers alike to take precautions during the evening.

ATTEMPTED THEFT AT BEDFORD PLACE MALL

At 8:17pm police responded to an attempted theft of cash from the cash register at the Aliant Store, 1658 Bedford Hwy, in Bedford Place Mall. The suspect in this matter, a 40 year old male, was detained by security. Both he and his accomplice , a 16 year old female, were arrested by police.

Bedford Players presents “Sinners”, a comedy by Norm Foster, directed by Robin Saywood. “A furniture store owner is having an affair with the local minister’s wife. The situation becomes complicated when the minister comes home unexpectedly.

Lawtons opens in Mill Cove Plaza

Lawtons Drugs opened its doors for the first time today in the busy Mill Cove Plaza, 965 Bedford Highway. Located across the street from Shoppers Drug Mart, the new Lawtons store replaces the old multiplex movie theatre that was torn down.

DAVID FINLAYSON FOR SCHOOL BOARD

David Finlayson will represent Bedford in the Halifax Regional School Board. David won with 4038 votes. Silvana Germana came in second with 2647 votes. In third and forth place were Rob Clark and Mark Ward, with 2150 and 1598 votes respectively.
