Charles P. Allen High School Reunion-Class of 1979
Posted Under: News and Information
It is hard to believe that 30 years have passed since the first graduating class of Charles P. Allen High School.
Although the new school was not yet completed, there were split shifts at Sackville High to accommodate the growing population of Bedford/Waverley.
There is now talk of constructing a new High School in Bedford which really makes you realize how much time has gone by!
To commemorate this momentous occasion, there will be a 30th Reunion held the weekend of July 17th & 18th, 2009. The Bedford Legion has been booked for Friday, July 17th for a cocktail party and dance.
On Saturday, dining & discussion are the order of the day and perhaps taking in some of the Tall Ship activities. This weekend was specifically picked to coincide with the Tall Ship event as an extra draw for those former classmates that no longer live in the Province.
Another draw for those of us of a particular age is the KISS concert! Halifax will be crazy that weekend!
The 30Th Reunion Committee has been working over the past few months on locating former classmates and teachers. They have registered on Classmates.com and on Facebook as the Group “Charles P. Allen High School, Class of 1979″.
However, there are still many former classmates to locate, although approximately 60 have been found so far. Of those, 48 have expressed an interest and hope to attend. The Reunion Committee needs your help in locating the remainder.
The contact person for the Reunion is Donna Lugar (nee MacPherson) at 902-835-5643 or donna.lugar@ns.sympatico.ca. Please contact her for more information and/or to register.
The 25th Reunion weekend was a wonderful time to reunite with old friends and make new ones and it is anticipated that the 30th Reunion will be just as great.

Nice to hear there will be a 30th reunion. I won’t be able to make it on the Fri night but hope to see many on Saturday with the Tall Ships events. Look forward to looking up the itinerary for that day.

Peace and Cheers!
