As the days, months and years pass by in the sleepy town of Bedford, it’s easy to forget there are murderers walking freely among us.
The Province of Nova Scotia is offering up to $150,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers responsible for the 2005 murder of Bedford resident Danny DiBenedetto.
At about 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, police responded to a report of a shooting at 33 Dartmoor Crescent, near the intersection of Dartmouth Road and Eaglewood Drive.
Upon arrival, police discovered 36-year-old Danny DiBenedetto laying on his living room floor having suffered from a gunshot wound.
DiBenedetto, who was conscious when police arrived, said three men entered his home, robbed and shot him before fleeing. DiBenedetto was transported to the QEII Hospital where he later died.
A subsequent investigation revealed that three masked men were seen leaving the address.
Anyone with information about the culprits responsible for the murder of DiBenedetto should call the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090.
Reward money will be paid in Canadian funds and will be apportioned as deemed just by the Minister of Justice for the Province of Nova Scotia.
Employees of law enforcement and correctional agencies are not eligible to collect the reward.
