halifax-regional-police1Have you ever watched an episode of Law & Order or CSI and wondered, “Is that what really happens?”

Are you 19 years of age or older?

If you answered yes to both of these questions, here is your opportunity to learn about policing in HRM, by taking part in Citizens’ Police Academy, hosted by Halifax Regional Police (HRP).

For six consecutive weeks, starting on March 25, 2009, participants will meet every Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. (weather permitting) to hear from seasoned police officers about such topics as: Forensics, Vice, Drugs, K-9 Unit, Emergency Response Team, etc.

There will also be an opportunity to go on an actual ride-along with an HRP Officer.

Sessions will take place at the new HRP Divisional Office at 7 Mellor Avenue in Dartmouth (intersection of Wright and John Savage Avenues in Burnside Park). Participants who attend all sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by Chief Frank A. Beazley.

Don’t delay, class size is limited and classes fill quickly.
