Bedford's new French high school, located on Larry Uteck Boulevard, is going up quickly in the Ravines subdivision of Bedford South.

Residents of Bedford have been wondering when the new French high school, located at the top of Larry Uteck Boulevard, is scheduled to be open for business.

The Bedford Beacon was informed by Jose Deshenes, a member of Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP), that as of yet there is no set date. “The Ecole Secondaire d’Halifax will not be open for September 2009″.

Jose Deshenes was unsure when the first day of classes would be for students, but stated that possibly the new high school would open its doors by December 2009 or January 2010. But she emphasized that no decisions have been made.

Students who now attend Ecole Beaubassin, at 54 Larry Uteck Boulevard, would move onto Ecole Secondaire d’Halifax.

Ecole Beaubassin holds students from grades primary to six, and the new high school would hold students from grades seven to 12.

The number of students enroled at the new school would be approximately 250 in the first phase. The numbers would reach 250 to 450 by the second phase.
