Yesterday, police responded to three incidents involving individuals who were highly agitated, sweating profusely and experiencing an elevated heart rate after having consumed illicit drugs. This situation, coupled with the arrest of two inmates at the Carleton Centre early Saturday morning who are believed to have taken illicit drugs and the subsequent death of one of them, has prompted the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit to launch an investigation into this matter.
It is unknown at this time if there is a link between any of the incidents, however, police remind citizens that the use of illicit drugs is not only illegal but unsafe and detrimental to your health.
