Cancellations in and around Bedford

Environment Canada is alerting area residents with scheduled plans for this afternoon and this evening to monitor weather conditions and listen for updated changes.
According to the organization’s website, “strong easterly winds with gusts up to 80 km/h are forecast giving a period of blowing and drifting snow. Snowfall amounts with this system are expected to be in the 10 to 15 centimetres range.”
Due to the extreme weather conditions, numerous community groups and organizations have cancelled or postponed events scheduled for this afternoon and tonight.
Here is a list of some cancellations and changes:
- Excel Childcare After School Programs have been cancelled
- Halifax Regional School Board meetings postponed
- Night classes cancelled at Citadel High School
- Bedford Skating Club classes cancelled
- Bedford Public Library will close at 5 p.m. – All African Heritage Month programs will be rescheduled.
- Sunnyside Mall and Bedford Place Mall will close at 4 p.m.
- Information meeting sponsored by Farmer’s Market Investment Co-op at LeBrun Centre postponed.
